Peace and Harmony roll from the top of Avondale Hills Farm down to the Pastures where livestock graze and forage.
Avondale Hills Farmhouse was built in the late 1800s from local stones. It sits on top of rolling hills next to a majestic Red Barn. It overlooks a winding river, pastures and a spring fed pond. The essence of traditional farming, grazing cattle, goats, New Zealand rabbits and foraging chickens meet a very modern hydroponic leafy green machine with an output of the most delicious greens! In the warmer months you may enjoy relaxing by the pool and BBQ. Year round we have a 7 person 115 jet hot tub.
Inside the farmhouse you will find an Entertainment room with a 3D theater projector. Recline and relax in the lush leather seats or grab beanbag! Watch a movie or engage in a 4 player Nintendo Switch game split across a 10 foot screen. If relaxing and reading a book or checking your email by the fire over a hot drink, then step into the café with individual tables and a full self serve coffee – tea bar. For large family gatherings or a company retreat step into the Great Room. The Great Room has a 12 foot table with ample seating for up to 16 adults. We’ve included bench seating to pile in the kids and teens. Cozy up and enjoy several games stacked in the drawers next to another gas fireplace.

WHY STAY ON A FARM?
Life is Better on the Farm – It’s peaceful and beautiful. There is a strong sense of serenity here. When you are here your senses will awaken and you might hear the harmonious banter of a baahing goat, a mooing cow or a clucking chicken. You’re no longer in the city! You’re on a farm. Step out of everyday life and come stay on a working farm.
When reconstructing the old farmhouse the owner wanted to make sure to save some of the historical features of the house like original flooring on the second floor. Original staircase and exposed stone walls. We also wanted to include the most earth friendly accommodation. The house is heated and cooled with Geothermal systems underground. 2 robust on-demand gas water heaters, gas cooking, gas dryer and fireplaces. Using all LED lighting they strive to leave the smallest carbon footprint on our precious mother earth.
