Walking Farm Tour

An Educational Experience for Everyone

Your tour begins with walking into the goat field where the farmer will give you some insight about our goats. Guests will also have the ability to hand feed goats with some yummy crackers. After the scratch is thrown guests will also have an opportunity to gather the eggs from the coops. Once the chicken experience is over we visit the rabbits where guests will learn about our rabbits and be a part of avondale hills farm very own bunny races, where you choose your racing lure from Pine needles to a Maple leaf.

Hydroponic Farm

Learn, Plant, Harvest, Eat!

Your tour begins in The hydroponic farm.  It is an up-cycled shipping container which grows 2,560 heads a lettuce vertically.  It is completely closed to all the outside elements.  It’s truly the science of growing to perfection.   You think organic is good.  It has nothing on untouched, 100% pesticide free.  We called the lettuce pure.  Nothing compares to it.  Chefs and customers will tell you!

We can take 10 people at a time on the tour.  Harvest your own lettuce!  Plant or transplant seedlings to the towers.  A completely educational tour on modern planting and growing.  This tour lasts between 30 and 45 minutes.  It can be shortened for those who just want to learn more about the farm without hands-on harvesting.

Participants must have clean hands and shoes before entering the farm.  There is no outside food or snacks allowed in the farm.  We keep the farm free from bugs so moving quickly into the farm while the door is open is important.  It is a self-contained environment.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
